19-year-old Coleman man drowns in McKinley Lake

The body of a 19-year-old Coleman man was discovered 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon in McKinley Lake in the township of Hiles.

The Forest County Sheriff’s Department received a call informing them of a swimmer that had possibly drown Thursday afternoon, at approximately 4 p.m.

The Forest County Sheriff’s Department, Wisconsin DNR and members of the Oneida County Dive Team responded to the call and began a search of the lake. The body was not discovered until the next afternoon.

The Wisconsin DNR is handling the investigation.
