Animal Resource Fund

(Animal Resource Fund News) - Our second year of Animal Resource Fund is drawing to a close, and we wish to update and thank all of you who have been a part of our family of volunteers.

We have reached animals in all corners of our county and met their needs accordingly. Whether it was foster care, food, housing, medical care, new homes, vaccinations or sterilization, we came to their aid. We continue to keep the shelves at NEWCAP (our local food pantry) stocked with pet food. We have even provided transportation to veterinarians, and also to shot clinics.

Since all of the above takes not only funds and the careful and wise use there0f, it also requires the ability to raise that needed money through hard work and perseverance. For many of our members, all of this is old hat – we’ve “been there and done that” before. Many of new people are excited about what we have accomplished in this short time.

Besides volunteering our time for community projects, for which we receive a donation for ARF, we have had rummage sales, antique and collectible sales and have now launched a new sales – candy bars. They will be available at Campbell’s Auto Supply and Northern Sport Shop in Crandon. We have temporarily sold out – we’re awaiting our new supply. We also have donation cans in various businesses throughout the county. Of course we are so thankful to have financial support coming in from those of you who appreciate our efforts to alleviate the distress of animals. That help may be directed to our treasurer, Wallace Roder at 10750 Chaney Road, Argonne, WI 54511.

Some of our members are in Green Bay, Milwaukee and beyond, but do an outstanding job, even long distance. They have been able to find new homes for many of the pets that were waiting to be placed, and have provided the necessary foster care in the meantime. Those same people have had fundraisers in their own area for ARF.

Our hope for the New Year is to provide even more help for the animals – maybe building kennels to accommodate more foster care while we are finding new homes for them and to sponsor more shot clinics.

To all those who have had a part in this endeavor, our heartfelt thanks, and our wish for a happy, healthy New Year. May God richly bless you for your good works.
