Marshfield Clinic announces new urgent care and pharmacy hours

Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center’s Urgent Care and Pharmacy departments are changing their weekend hours for the winter months and would also like to let the community know about hours of operation during the upcoming holidays.

Beginning Saturday, Dec. 13, the Urgent Care and Pharmacy will be open from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center, including Urgent Care and Pharmacy, will be closed on Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25.

 The Urgent Care & Pharmacy departments are open for the following hours during the holiday season:

• Open 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (noon) Christmas Eve Day, Wednesday, Dec. 24

• Closed Christmas Day, Thursday, Dec. 25

• Open 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26 in Urgent Care, Pharmacy 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

• Open 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, and Sunday, Dec. 28

• Open 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve Day, Wednesday, Dec. 31 in Urgent Care, Pharmacy 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.

• Open 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1

“Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday are the only holidays our Urgent Care and Pharmacy are actually closed,” said Kelly Rydeski, Urgent Care manager. “Most other holidays during the year we do remain open - including Christmas Eve Day (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.) and New Year's Day (8 a.m. – 1 p.m.).”

After the holiday season, the Marshfield Clinic Urgent Care will return to normal business hours, from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday, and 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The Pharmacy hours will be from 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. on weekdays, and 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. on weekends.

Prescription for disaster
According to a recent report released by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) based on statistics from the National Surveys on Drug Use and Health (NSDUGH) between 4 and 6 percent of residents in northeastern Wisconsin over the age of 12 have abused prescription pain relievers in the past year and for the first time ever prescription drugs have surpassed marijuana in use by first-time abusers nationwide.
