A fire completely destroyed a Cresent home on Firetower Road Friday evening.

According to Cresent Fire Chief Ken Orton, by the time the Cresent Fire Department received the call reporting the blaze, flames were already burning through the roof of the home. By the time firefighters from the Cresent, Newbold and Pelican Fire Departments arrived at the scene, the home was too far gone to save.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire except for a cat, who safely escaped the building.

According to Orton, due to the extent of the damage the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
