Lions collecting deer hides

The Rhinelander Lions Club will be collecting donated deer hides and heads to help defray the costs at the Wisconsin Lions Camp at Rosholt. Hundreds of blind, hearing impaired, cognitively disabled and diabetic kids attend the camp each summer at no cost to them. With funds from donated deer hides and heads, disabled kids can experience the same camping fun as other kids.

The drop-off points are the Aqualand docks at 1421 Lincoln St. in Rhinelander and the Antigo Rental Center at 524 Edison St. in Antigo. The drop-off dates run from now through Dec. 21. Hides should be salted, bundled and placed on the pallet at the drop-off site. Place the deer heads in the plastic bag with the tag completed as to the date, county and township in which killed. The DNR is doing a CWD study of deer killed in the local area.

The Rhinelander Lions want to thank all hunters who donate their deer hides (with tails) and heads to this worthy cause. Call (715) 282-7583 or consult a Rhinelander Lions Club member for more information.
