(Argonne News) - Election is over with and we will have a new president (the one I like I hope). If not, we have to all get behind him and hope for the best. This is America and that’s what we do. The majority wins and it’s the people’s choice. Besides, I have to be nice now so the FBI or CIA don’t come to get me.

This week I would like to give a little information on the Roberts families – Argonne had two – Moris and Helen Robert and Roman and Vera Roberts.

They both have family that still live here. Moris and Helen had two children, a daughter and a son, Charlie. Moris worked for Consolodated and Helen was an Argonne school teacher. They lived across from Kathy’s, where Jim Gibson lives now. They also owned a farm on County Tr. P. Charlie now owns a farm and married Barbara Samz and they have several children.

Roman and Vera lived across from the Argonne grade school for many years, then moved to a trailer behind Bob Samz. Roman also worked for Consolidated and Vera was a homemaker. They had boys named Larry (Carol Roberts), Dick, Danny and Pete; two daughters, one Peggy Retzlaft, who lives in Argonne with her husband and children.

Both Roberts families were very active in the Catholic Church and aided in lots of Argonne planning.

I accompanied daughter Lila Kegley to Marshfield to have laser surgery on her eyes. Nice having a kid depend on you again, if it’s only two days and she can’t see. I had her at my mercy. Her surgery went okay.

When I got home, hubby Harold had been sick. Grandkids Kristi and Charlie Kegley had taken good care of him. I just hope everyone else doesn’t get sick. So get your flu shots. His is late this year.

Fred and Gordie Ditmar are back in Florida. They called to make us feel good about our snow last week.

I got a call from sister Madline Lockard of Idaho. She informed me my other sister Kido says I never spell her names right. Sorry, Kiddo, I’m too old to change. It’s always nice to hear from relatives and friends who live far away, that way they let you know they’re reading your news, good or bad. As long as he mailman finds you, be happy.

Grandson Josh Jezeski got his deer during the weekend for children to hunt. It’s a good thing for dads and their children to get out on a weekend together.

If you would like your family history in Argonne written up, please let me know and send details.

Also I would like to write some history on the Argonne grade school. If you have anything you would like added, call or mail it to me.

Halloween is over and we’re on to Thanksgiving so get out your turkeys and pilgrims.

Scott and Kathy Lane from Green Bay were in Argonne visiting relatives for a couple of days.

Cory Keepers and long-time girlfriend Sam are engaged and a May wedding is planned. Congratulations, you made your parents and grandparents very happy.

One year old Jaxon Keepers went trick or treating with his little Waggoner cousins. He loved the candy but was scared to get near his scary looking cousin. Jaxon is the son of Toni Keeper and the Waggoner boys are Troy and Kellie Waggoner.

Marie Peterson is in the hospital. Sorry to hear you’re ill after your long stay when you fell. Get well soon.

Buckle up and wear your seat belts.

Call Mary Anne Jezeski at (715) 649-3808 or write her at 7911 Mill St., Argonne, WI 54511.
