Memberships are still available for the remaining concerts of the Northwoods Concert Association. The next performers will be “Trumpet Invasions,” a father/son duo on the trumpet and piano. This team has been entertaining on stage together since Brandon was seven. As a trumpet soloist, Brandon also has developed a unique style of playing, arranging and composing. This program will be at Rhinelander High School on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Memberships are: Individual adult, $40; K-12 Students, $20; and family, $95.

Remaining concerts will be “Fascinating Gershwin” featuring Janice Martin displaying her talents on piano, violin and spectacular soprano voice. A jazz trio of piano, drums and bass accompanies her as she performs the time honored Gershwin melodies. This program is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009.

The final presentation will be “Romanza-The Art of the Tenor.” These three terrific tenors from Canada have a varied repertoire consisting of well-known operatic arias, musical theatre songs, movies, classical pop, love ballads and folk tunes.

A violin, piano and bass trio accompanies them. These talented performers are scheduled on Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Membership in the Northwoods Concert Association will be available at the door prior to the next performance on Nov. 23.

Members are also eligible to attend the remaining programs in the Three Lakes Association. Their programs are “Art Stevenson and High Water” on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Three Lakes High School auditorium.

This is a group of Wisconsin musicians who are considered the best among the Midwest bluegrass bands. Country music, bluegrass and contemporary comprise their repertoire.

At the Reiter Center in Three Lakes on Tuesday, April 28, 2009 a wine and cheese social will be included. This date will bring the “Northshore Quartet,” a group of string players from the Green Bay Symphony. Works of Dvorak, Mozart, Gershwin and Russian composers will be performed.

Further information and memberships are also available by calling Betty at 362-5755, Tom at 362-6988, or Mary at 369-9269. Continued support of the Concert Association is necessary and appreciated.
