(Carter News) - Hi everybody. I apologize for not getting your news in last week but I ended up in the hospital all the way to Tomahawk. I am doing quite well now and hope it stays that way!

The Presbyterian Women went out to Nu Roc Community Health Care Center in Blackwell on Thursday, Oct. 9 to play Bingo with the residents. That’s always a great time and we also had birthday cake and coffee with them.

Gary Shampo and granddaughter Kassidy Ashbeck drove to Oshkosh to attend grandson Ryan Geise's football game with Kimberly scoring eight to Oshkosh seven so it was a good game.

They stayed both nights with Marie Hafermann. Earlier that morning they attended another game where Marie's grandson Zachary Foth played flag football in Fond du Lac. Gary and Kassidy returned home on Sunday.

We are all so happy for Blanche McNulty. She graduated from James Beck Cancer Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7. She received a certificate and a little penguin dressed in a cap and gown which I'm sure she will always treasure.

Racquel Geise of Combined Locks brought her daughter Jessica and nephew Cody Shampo up to attend the home coming football game and dance in Laona. Raletta Ashbeck and daughter Kassidy also attended the game and dance. Jessica and Cody spent the night with the Ashbecks.

Brandon Shampo and his girlfriend, both of Neenah drove up on Sunday to pick up Jessie and Cody and took them back home. All spent time with grampa Gary Shampo and great-gramma Shirley Shampo.

That’s about it for now so until next week, have a happy and healthy one.

If I ever reach heaven I expect to find three wonders there: first, to meet some I had not thought to see there; second, to miss some I had expected to see there; and third, the greatest wonder of all, to find myself there.
