On My Passing

Grieve not for me when I have passed.

Tis such a selfish thing.

For I have slipped life’s bonds at last.

For all Eternity.

And though you can not understand.

Such peace I’ve never known.

Still sorrow wells within your heart,

and death you yet bemoan.

Let grief be ours and ours alone.

If anyone should grieve.

It should be those of us now gone.

For those who yet must be.
