William Henry Keene Jr.

William Henry Keene Jr., a resident of Harrisburg, Illinois, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008 at Harrisburg Medical Centre. He had been battling illness as a result of leukemia and lymphoma for about a year.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. at Reed Funeral Chapel, 503 East Sloan Street, in Harrisburg, Ill. Visitation was from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14. Graveside services were held from 11:30 a.m. to noon at Sunset Lawn Cemetery in Harrisburg, Ill.

Archie Ray Bonesteel

Archie Ray Bonesteel, age 96, of Newald, passed away at the Nu-Roc Community Health Care Center in Blackwell on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17 from 11 a.m. until noon at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Crandon. Funeral services will follow at noon with Pastor Don Dewing officiating. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery in Newald. A complete obituary will appear in next week’s publication.

Mary A. Schultz

Mary A. Schultz, age 57, of 413 Francis Ave. in Cascade, passed away early Thursday morning, Sept. 4, 2008, at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Jan. 9, 1951 in Crandon, a daughter of the late George and Geneva Fredrick Kulaf. Mary attended Crandon Grade School and Crandon High School. On Jan. 11, 1971 she married Dwight Schultz in Minnesota. The couple has resided in Cascade since their marriage. Mary worked at Tupper Cheese in Plymouth for several years and Regal Ware in Kewaskum. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. Mary enjoyed cooking and spending time with her loving family.

Survivors include her husband, Dwight of Cascade; two sons, Jamie Schultz of Cascade and Michael (Jennifer) Schultz of Plymouth; two step-grandchildren, Brock and Jessica; three sisters, Ella (Earl) Dutton of Fallon, Nev., Mildred “Lollie” (Charles) Bennette of Fallon, Nev. and Lucille “Snookie” (James) Jones of New London; two brothers, Donald Kulaf of Crandon and Leo “Beno” Kulaf of Crandon; two brothers-in-law, DuWayne “Dewey” (MaryAnn) Schultz of the town of Lyndon and Kevin Schultz of Cascade; and Murray sisters and brothers, Geneva, Debbie, Linda, Penny, Cindy, Terri, Eddie and Lenord. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Shirley “Shin” Gerald, Elizabeth “Beta” Hilman, Gertrude Murray, Marcella “Grunt” Kolter, Joanne Drake and Agnes “Aggie” Sharko; and two brothers, George “Butch” Kulaf and Andy Kulaf.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 7, at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cascade. Rev. Richard Bidinger, pastor of the church, will officiate. Cremation will follow the services and inurnment will be in the parish cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Mary’s name. The Suchon Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Plymouth is serving her family. For online condolences, visit www.suchonfh.com.

Three of us who just returned from a trip to the state of Minnesota spell it “frustration!” For several years we have been listening to the fish stories told by members of the musky fraternity who have returned from a fishing trip to one of the large Minnesota musky lakes.
