Agnes H. Sharko

Agnes H. Sharko, age 77, of Laona, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 2, 2008 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rhinelander. She was born in Crandon on September 15, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Geneva (Frederick) Kulaf.

Agnes married Eugene “Bud” Sharko on May 6, 1950 in Crandon. During her working years, she worked at the Clubhouse, Hotel and Connor’s Mill. Agnes enjoyed berry picking and trips to the casino. She looked for a Christmas tree all year long, shopped for Christmas presents all year, and loved decorating her house and yard for all the different seasons.

Agnes was the most caring, compassionate, loving, generous and special mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She always loved her family and was always number one in her heart. Agnes never asked for anything and she always gave 100% to all her family. If her family was happy, she was happy! She will be sadly missed by all her family.

She is survived by her husband, Eugene “Bud”; children, Bill (Cindy) Sharko, Connie (David) Belland and Jan (John) Kadlec; grandchildren, Kim (Travis) Chitko, Chad Belland (fiancée, Stephanie), Jaime (Ben) Jensen, Kelly (Scott) Ebert and Katie Sharko; great-grandchildren, Madyson and Chandler Chitko; sisters, Lucille “Snooky” (James) Jones, Mary (Dwight) Schultz, Mildred “Lollie” (Charles) Bennette and Ella (Earl) Dutton; and brothers, Donald Kulaf and Leo “Beno” Kulaf.

Pallbearers are Travis Chitko, Scott Ebert, Ben Jensen, Clette Kulaf, Chris Rosio and Jeff Rosio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters, Shirley “Shin” Gerald, Elizabeth “Beta” Hilman, Gertrude Murray, Marcella “Grunt” Kolter and Joanne Drake; and two brothers, George “Butch” Kulaf and Andy Kulaf.

Visitation will be on Friday, August 8, 2008 from 9 to 11 a.m. at St. Leonard Catholic Church in Laona. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Dave Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Laona Cemetery. Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Crandon is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, we have so many things we would like to say. So many people love you beyond words. We will always remember your beautiful smile, awesome sense of humor and those big hugs that were so sincere and full of love.

You have left us sooner than we could imagine. You had so much more life to live, but you will live on through your family and in our memories. So for now our loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother we say, “See You Later.”

In Heaven someday, we will all be together again and we look forward to seeing you again. We love you!

Kermit L. Champine

Kermit L. Champine, age 69, of Crandon, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 31, 2008. Kermit was born May 19, 1939, the son of the late Harry and Mildred (Wendt) Champine.

Kermit was an auto mechanic, logger and truck driver before his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to NASCAR, Brewers and the Packers on the radio.

Kermit will be sadly missed by his many friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene of Crandon; daughter, Cherie Champine Perry (Mike) of Green Bay; granddaughter, Jessica Perry of Green Bay; sisters, Kay Kammerer of Crandon and Mary “Posie” Champine of Crandon; and brother, Keith (Shirley) Champine of Gillette, Wyo.

In addition to his parents, Harry and Mildred, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Douglas Champine.

At his request there will be no visitation or funeral. A memorial and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Weber-Hill Funeral Home of Crandon assisted the family with arrangements.

Dorothy D. Tremmel

Dorothy D. Tremmel, age 71, of Newald, passed away unexpectedly as result of a motor vehicle accident on August 1, 2008 in Merrill. She was born September 22, 1936 in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Christian and Minnie (Jackson) Anderson.

Dorothy enjoyed cooking for everyone, sewing and crafts. She loved to bake rolls, enjoyed traveling and socializing with as many as she could. Her family will never forget her charm and lady luck! She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Harry; children, Debra (Rod) Schaefer of Tomahawk, Rose (Randall) Peters of Keshena, Joann (Brian) Gibson of Milwaukee, Denny Kearney of Mayville, Robbie Kearney of Milwaukee and Barney Kearney of Milwaukee; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; son-in-law, David Hanson; sister, Gladys Anderson; three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, three children and other close friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the St. Leonard Catholic Church in Laona. Funeral Mass will follow at 3 p.m. with Father Dave Schmidt officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Newald. Weber-Hill Funeral Home of Crandon is assisting the family with the arrangements.
