(Wabeno News) - Hi everybody.

I decided I would write about a shop in Wabeno that you may not know about. It’s called Bets’ Li’l Shop Antiques and Collectibles. It is one block south of Hwy. 32 at 4282 River Street at the corner of East and River Streets, and kitty corner from St. Ambrose’ Madonna Hall.

It’s a cute little shop in the one car part of a two-car garage. Insulated, heated and air-conditioned. The floor is painted to look like brick and the walls are painted white with burgundy trim. Full of clean merchandise, some of which is consigned, but the rest belongs to the owner and I am the owner.

I love this shop as it gives me a chance to meet people. Almost everyday someone stops by, maybe they don’t buy anything, but we visit. Sometimes they show an interest in my garden so we walk out there on the deck and visit some more. It is a great time for me to have someone stop by whose interests may be the same as mine. I love old things, and the old things and my garden make me feel good, that‘s why I enjoy this so much.

The hours of Bets’ Li’l Shop are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The rest of the days are by chance. If I am home I am most likely open.

The fun part of having a shop right next door is that if I am making bread or dinner I can just run out of the house and greet my customers, I don’t have to be in a fixed place all day. I love people so it is just like having a lot of friends stopping by. Come see me just for the visit, even if you don’t like antiques or collectibles.

Don’t you just love this place? I do!
