(Carter News) - Shirley Ashbeck, her mom Clara Koskella, grandchildren Abby and Katie Ashbeck of Kaukauna and Kassidy Ashbeck spent Tuesday afternoon on a pontoon boat ride with Joe (Jr.) LeMay. The girls had a great time swimming and each one had a turn driving the boat. We even had lunch on the boat.
Kate Mattson and Chris Doyle drove to Bark Lake on Monday, July 7 to visit Kate's brother Del Clavette and also to celebrate Kate's 84th birthday. Happy Birthday Kate and hope you have many more.
Jackie Amschleu of Green Bay and Laura Gliniecki of Ixonia were staying at Walleye Lodge at Rolling Stone Lake in Pearson. Laura lived with me years ago and I was so happy to see her again.
Ollie and Pam Fechter and daughter Carrie of Port Washington are spending a few days on Knob Hill getting settled in their new mobile home. Ollie has been on the sick list for quite awhile but is doing real good now. You can't keep a good man down very long, right Ollie?
Joe LeMay was in Oshkosh for medical and dental appointments last week. His son Kevin and family of Oshkosh have been up on vacation this past week.
Katie and Abby Ashbeck of Kaukauna spent the past week with Gramma Shirley Ashbeck and great-gramma Clara Koskella. Believe me it sure is lonesome without them. Kassidy Ashbeck also stayed with us for a few days.
Marie Hafermann of Oshkosh is visiting Gary Shampo and family and also worked at the fair grounds at the pie and ice cream stand. Thanks very much Marie, you were a great help.
A very dear friend, for over forty years, Emily Jacobson passed away on Saturday, July 12 after a long illness. Our hearts go out to her family: Gregg and Cindy Miller and family, Phil and Brenda Shopadock and family, Jesse Jacobson and family, Benji Jacobson and family and Laurie Anderson and family. Bless all of you.
Until next week, have a happy and healthy one.
