Fire strikes restaurant, travel trailer in Vilas County

Firefighters in two Vilas County towns were busy over the weekend as fire struck an Arbor Vitae restaurant and a travel trailer in the town of Lincoln.

According to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Department, a call came in at 1:05 p.m. Saturday reporting a possible fire at Four Seasons Resort and Restaurant in Arbor Vitae.

Crews discovered an electrical fire in a sump pump. There was minimal damage to the restaurant and no injuries.

At approximately 5:55 p.m. Vilas dispatch received a report of a travel trailer on fire in the town of Lincoln.

The trailer, which was owned by Detlef Knueppel of Sturtevant, was fully engulfed when firefighters arrived on scene. Knueppel said he took a trip into town, came back and discovered the fire. The trailer was a complete loss.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

There were no injuries.
