(Carter News) - Hi everyone.

Shirley Shampo and myself were in Crandon last Monday where I had a doctor appointment at Health and Wellness Center. The weather was so nice we decided to take a ride to Rhinelander which was a really bad mistake. Around 1 p.m. it started to raining and turned to snow. What a time we had getting back home again. I guess we should have listened to the weather man for once!

Shirley Ashbeck drove to Kaukauna on Tuesday and stayed with her son Mickey, Jeanine and granddaughters, Abby and Katie. Wednesday, Mickey and Shirley attended a farm show in Oshkosh and she returned home on Thursday.

Al Morrison and Mike Ashbeck also attended the farm show.

I received a phone call from my old bingo buddy, Sis Kulczyski, the other day. I sure miss going to bingo with her. She says to say hello to all her friends up north.

The senior citizens held their meeting on Thursday, April 10 at the Wabeno Town Hall with a potluck dinner. Every thing is always so good.

Harold Amenson of Green Bay and Carter is recovering from surgery. All your friends in Carter wish you a very speedy recovery, Harold, and hope to see you back up north for the summer very soon.

My daughter Shirley Ashbeck and myself drove to Kaukauna on Sunday to attend the dance revue of our granddaughters, Abigail and Kaitlyn Ashbeck. They had to perform three days, April 11, 12 and 13 and did an excellent job. Grampa Ron and Gramma Judy Noffke and Grampa Mike Ashbeck also attended.

I received word that my aunt Anna Bosma of Harbor Springs, Michigan passed away at the age of 105. For many years she lived alone and did most of her own work by herself. That was the last of my dad’s sisters and brothers.

I hope we just got the last storm of the year. I sure did not like that thunder and lightning we had the other night.

So until next week, have a happy and healthy one.
