The Fountain of Youth Memorial Committee is currently in the process of purchasing the home where six young people were killed by off-duty sheriff’s deputy Tyler Peterson on October 7, 2007.

According to Pastor Bill Farr, the spokesman for the committee, enough money has been raised to purchase the house from Paul Murray, Jordanne Murray’s father. The committee has begun the paperwork and the sale of the home should be official late next month, he said.

The victims’ parents and friends, as well as other local organizations, have been working hard to raise the money to pay off the home by selling Crandon Angel T-shirts, candles, bracelets and holding raffles.

Once the home has been officially purchased, the committee plans to burn the home. A fountain memorial with the names of the six victims killed in the shooting is planned to be erected in its place.
