New staff join Ministry Weight Management Team in Rhinelander

Ministry Health Care - Saint Mary’s Hospital is pleased to announce the addition of three new staff members, Peggy Abel, MD, Linda Jerzak, MSN, FNP-BC and Rhonda Repinski, APN-BC, to the Ministry Weight Management Program offered through Ministry Rehabilitation Services located at the YMCA facility in Rhinelander.

Peggy Abel, MD joins the team as the new Medical Director. Dr. Abel joined Ministry Medical Group in 1994. Dr. Abel is also a part of the Internal Medicine team and provides a full range of medical services to adults. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wyoming in 1979 and chose to work at home as a full-time mother of two children until 1986 when she returned to medical school. She received her Doctor of Medicine degree in 1990 from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, and completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas, Houston, in July 1994.

Linda Jerzak, MSN, FNP-BC will assist Dr. Abel as a Nurse Practitioner in the program. Jerzak is also part of the new Family Medicine team in Rhinelander. Since February 2002, she has practiced as a Nurse Practitioner at the Ministry Medical Group Clinic in Woodruff. She specializes in the full range of women’s health and wellness services throughout their lifespan from teen to post-menopause. Upon receiving her Family Practice credentials, Jerzak began seeing patients of all ages.

Health promotion and illness prevention through patient education is a major focus.

Rhonda Repinski, APN, BC will assist Dr. Abel as a Nurse Practitioner in the program. Repinski is also part of the Family Medicine team in Tomahawk. Since June 2007, she has practiced family medicine as a Nurse Practitioner at the Ministry Medical Group Clinic located in Woodruff.

Additional Ministry Weight Management staff includes Melissa Wild, Health Educator, Pam Morton, Program Coordinator and Duane Stefonek, Program Director.

Ministry Weight Management, an HMR (Health Management Resources) Program, is the nation's leading provider of weight treatment services in the medical community.

OCEDC holding annual luncheon April 25
