ATV safety course offered

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Department is sponsoring two Wisconsin DNR certified ATV safety courses. The course will be held at the Oneida County Law Enforcement Center located at 2000 East Winnebago Street in Rhinelander. The dates and times for the courses are as follows:

Course one: Monday April 14, Tuesday April 15 and Wednesday April 16 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Attendance is mandatory for all three days of the course.

Course two: Saturday April 26 and Sunday April 27 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for both days. Attendance is mandatory for both days.

Age Requirement. Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1988 and at least 12 years old must have ATV certification to operate on public area.

Students must be 12 years old to enroll in the course. There is no maximum age, and parents and adults are encouraged to enroll and participate in this course.

Advanced registration is required. Please contact Deputy Brad Fogerty or Deputy Jim Adams at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Department. Telephone (715) 361-5132 for information or to register for the course.

Students with special needs are asked to notify the department when registering and request special accommodations that may be required for participation.
