Minocqua library hosts teen book group

Make new friends, discover new books! Join the Minocqua Public Library’s book discussion group for young adults and enjoy refreshments as we talk about a different book each month.

The next meeting will be Monday, March 24, 2008 at 6:30 pm at the Minocqua Public Library to discuss science fiction author Scott Westerfeld’s book, “The Secret Hour,” the first volume in his Midnighters trilogy. Teens (ages 14 and up) are invited.

Free copies of the books will be provided for group participants.

“The Secret Hour,” is a tale of five teenagers born on the stroke of midnight, for whom time freezes every night, revealing a dark and terrible hidden world.

All three books in the series are available. For more information about the author check out his website at http://www.scottwesterfeld.com/index.htm.Copies of the book will be available at the library for discussion group participants. Any questions please call the Minocqua Library at 356-4437.

Library hours: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Red Cross holding CPR , first aid training
The American Red Cross - Rhinelander Office will hold a Community CPR training for the Rhinelander area. This two-part course will be held on Monday, March 17 and Wednesday, March 19, from 6 to 10 p.m. The training will take place at the American Red Cross office in Rhinelander, located in the upper level of the M & I Bank building in downtown Rhinelander.
