Students at the Wabeno High School and Middle School can purchase healthy snacks after school. This is an ideal situation for students that need to stay after school for sports or other school activities. You will find the snack cart in the commons area every day from 3:15 to 3:30 p.m.

The cart is attended by a student volunteer and supervised by Mrs. Keller and Mrs. Boor. The snacks range in price from .50 to $1.25.

The students had their say about the types of snacks that they wanted and the prices. The healthy snack selections were based upon the school nutrition policy. Some of the snacks that are available are: crackers, pudding, baked chips, nuts, pretzolds, trail mix, chex mix, fruit snacks, fruit cocktail, beef jerky, rice krispie treats, pistachios, and a tuna salad. Occasionally string cheese and pickles are available.

Congratulations Wabeno School for promoting healthy food choices!
