| Article: | Community Events Forest County Health Department March Activities & Announcements ’Äì Childhood (free) immunization clinics are Tuesday, March 18 at Wabeno Town Hall from 3:30 to 4 p.m.; Monday, March, 24 at the Laona Town Hall from 3:30 to 4 p.m.; and Wednesday, March 26 at the County Health Department at the Crandon Courthouse from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Call for an appointment. Free flu shots are still available for children (ages 6 months through 18 years old). Call the Health Department to set up an appointment. New vaccines are available for free. The new HPV vaccine is available for females ages 11 to 18 years old. This vaccine is given for prevention of cervical cancer. Meningococcal vaccine is also recommended for children 11 to 18 years of age. This shot is given for prevention of bacterial meningitis. Many colleges recommend that students living in dormitories receive this shot. Call 478-3371 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
