Newbold voters will chose between a pair of familiar adversaries in April.

Incumbent Oneida County Board Supervisor Bob Metropulos will take on former county board supervisor Patricia C. Peters in April's general election.

This will be the fourth time Peters and Metropulos have faced off for the District 15 seat. District 15 includes Newbold (Wards 3 &4) and Lake Tomahawk (Ward 1).

The last time around, in 2006, Metropulos defeated the incumbent Peters.

The two have served together on the Newbold town board as supervisors and as county board supervisors have been very involved in zoning issues.

Metropulos is the chairman of the powerful county zoning committee. Peters served on that committee while she was in office.

Peters was the top vote-getter in Tuesday's primary election, claiming 282 votes. Metropulos received 223 votes and Jack Dunbar garnered 155.

Dunbar is eliminated from the race.

On the other side of the county, Crescent voters will chose between incumbent supervisor Jack Young and challenger Jeff Kuczmarski.

Young, a veteran supervisor who chairs the county's labor relations committee, received 235 votes. Kuczmarski tallied 187 votes.

Young's other challenger, Gus Bramann, was eliminated from the race with 106 votes.

The general election is April 3.

" Why in the world did Wisconsin vote for Obama and not Clinton? I do believe Obama will be the next President as McCain is too old for the job and besides people are sick and tired of the Republicans. Remember folks the Republicans were against Social Security and Medicare and if they get thier way watch out. That's my opinion. "

" You have the date wrong for the election - it is April 1, 2008. "

Football team appreciates support of the community
Parents, grandparents, uncles, families and friends, local businesses and Hodag football supporters: Due to your generosity our locker room pledge drive was a great success. Our goal was to raise $8,000 to $10,000 to purchase 40 lockers for our varsity locker room. We crushed this goal and raised enough money to purchase 100 lockers and the ability to have every male athlete in a new locker. These new lockers will allow us to secure our valuable equipment. In addition and I believe more important is that it shows our kids we care and will make the locker room less stressful. This facility has needed this improvement for three decades and you made it happen. Personally, I can not thank you enough for giving us the opportunity make this improvement for our students.
