Packer fan fills restaurant with memorabilia

We now know why the Packers beat the Seahawks last weekend, even after such a dismal start. It took an e-mail from an employee at the Four Seasons Family Restaurant on N. Stevens to find out.
Vicki Tosi works at the restaurant and sent this reporter an e-mail after seeing the article about the “Packer House” on Sutliff.
Vicki wrote, “Your article about the “Packer House” reminded me of my boss, Jimmy. He is a diehard Packer fan and has an awesome collection of Packer memorabilia. There are photos, a jersey, numerous autographed photos, old newspapers from different years about the Packers winning the Super Bowl and much more.
He really takes pride in his collection and displays it proudly. Customers are amazed at his collection and get excited when there is something new. I am from Chicago and was never really into football but would often try to razz my boss about the Packers and his collection. Boy, that got me into trouble sometimes!
I have since started to watch football and find myself rooting for the Packers. With the playoffs and all the Packer pride going on, I really think people would find Jimmy's collection interesting and I know he would love to share it with you and others. He calls it a collection. I tease him and call it a shrine.”
There is indeed a collection (shrine) at the restaurant, with photos of Sterling Sharpe, Reggie White, Nick Barnett, Ahman Green and, of course, Brett Favre. Jim Richter talked about his collection in a phone interview, and in talking about it, we find out why the Packers beat the Seahawks.
“I'm originally from Waukesha,” said Richter. “Four Seasons Family Restaurant is my wife Vicki's (Richter) restaurant. I must tell you she is not exactly a football fan. I am a huge, huge Packer fan, forever. The collection just kind of snowballed. Many of the items are gifts from customers.
I'm really proud, I had my picture taken with Leroy Butler. Like I say, quite a few things were donated by customers and friends, though I've searched for items wherever I can. The Chmura jersey was actually worn by him.”
Here's the part of the story that explains the turnaround in last weekend's game. Remember, Vicki Richter is not a big fan.
“It didn't look good for the Packers after the first few minutes,” said Richter. “My wife sneaked into my drawer and put on one of my Packers jerseys and came into the room. The tide turned! After that I wouldn't let her take it off until the game was over.”
There it is, take it or leave it. And go Pack.
