Gallery holding open house

The Umlauff Art Gallery will host a Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event will feature wine tasting from noon-5 p.m., sponsored by Choice Cut Liquors in Lake Tomahawk. Wine connoisseur, Dr. Joel Furda, will be acting sommelier. There will also be an array of holiday refreshments and hourly drawings for prizes.

Umlauff Gallery is the home of Rodd Umlauff, renowned for paintings that blend art and imagination. The gallery also features the unique woodturnings and carvings of Hans Delius, Kathy Furda's lampwork bead jewelry and stained glass, as well as pottery by Kathy Mitchell. All work in the gallery will be 10 percent off during the open house.

Umlauff Gallery is located on Highway 47 in the center of Lake Tomahawk. It is open year-round and proudly represents local artists.

Headwaters' RAM Crew receives “Hall of Fame” awards
Headwaters' Rest Area Maintenance (RAM) crew has been acknowledged by RFW (Rehabilitation For Wisconsin) for their high standard custodial and maintenance care of the seven waysides they maintain in Vilas, Forest, Lincoln, and Oneida counties. Headwaters' RAM crew has received three “RAM Hall of Fame” awards for their work in maintaining the Vilas and Forest county sites in excellent condition.
