Fishermen and women in the Wabeno area no longer have to worry that they might run out of bait when going out fishing in the early morning hours. C & S Sports, located next to BJ's Market in Wabeno, is open and ready for all outdoor enthusiasts.

The new store offers a wide selection of bait and tackle, camping and boating equipment as well as hunting equipment.

“I carry a little bit of everything,” said owner Craig Van Alstine. “I keep it well stocked.”

The store features everything a fishing enthusiast could want, offering nets, life preservers, jigs, rod and reels, flashlights, tackle boxes, minnow buckets and baits and lures of all shapes and sizes, just to name a few.

“So far people have told me that my minnows stay alive well. I guarantee my bait to catch fish or die trying,” he joked.

He is also a license agent, offering hunting and fishing licenses for all outdoor enthusiasts. Additionally, a variety of metal art is sold at the store.

When asked why people should shop at his store, he said, “I'm always open, I have good prices and good bait.”

C & S Sports, formerly known as Bassmasters, was originally located in Lakewood. It is open from, as Van Alstine says, “sun-up to sundown.”
