Bean's Boats, owned by Bean's and Deb Mullins, recently moved to a new location in Crandon. Formerly on the other side of town, Bean's Boats, which manufactures and sells canoe-furniture, is now located on Highway 32 by the DNR building.

If you've never been to Bean's Boats before, you are certainly missing out because their unique furniture designs, made to look like boats or canoes, have been featured at Log Home Living Shows, Lake Home and Cabin Shows and even Trading Spaces.

Bean's and Deb have been making their “Northwoodsy” furniture for the past 16 years. Their boat design is featured on a variety of furniture for a home or cabin, including bookshelves, coffee tables and bars. The items can even be personalized, said Deb, to include photos, fishing lures and other keepsakes. And if it's a bar you are interested in, Bean's and Deb can help you to pick out the perfect bar stools to accompany it.

“If they want something different, we will work with them,” said Deb.

The store not only features canoe-furniture, but a variety of cottage decor including clocks, lamps and artwork. The store even features a collection of unique lampshades with old pictures and postcards printed on them.

“It's (the store) unique,” said Deb. “If you like cabin/cottage decor, we've got it.”

According to Deb, several people have stopped into their new location, claiming that they didn't even know about the business. The new location is also beneficial because it offers space for a show room where they can display their furniture in a real-life setting, as well as plenty of workspace for Beans to work on his creations.

Deb is available on Tuesdays or by appointment to show people around the business, but the door is always open. For more information on Bean's Boats, visit their Web site at www.beansboats.com.
