Stabbing suspect held on bond
by Daily News Staff
A Lac du Flambeau woman accused of stabbing her brother in the chest is being held on $10,000 cash bail.
Early Tuesday morning, the Vilas County Sheriff's Department says it received a 9-1-1 call from 2801 Wazhashk Trail in Lac du Flambeau with a report of a stabbing.
Officers responded and determined that a dispute between a brother and sister resulted in the woman allegedly stabbing the man in the chest.
The woman, Mary Thompson, age 18 of Lac du Flambeau, fled the scene on foot and was taken into custody at approximately 12 a.m.
She is expected to be charged with attempted first degree homicide, obstructing justice, bail jumping and a domestic violence enhancer. During a bail hearing Wednesday, bail was set in the amount of $10,000. Thompson is also not allowed to have any contact with the victim, 22-year-old Lawrence Thompson.
Lawrence Thompson is being treated at Howard Young Medical Center.
Mary Thompson is expected to be back in court Thursday.
