Elaine M. Burnett "Ne-be-na-ga-bow-we-que" Rainbow Woman

Elaine M. Burnett "Ne-be-na-ga-bow-we-que" Rainbow Woman, age 74, of Mole Lake passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. Elaine was born February 21, 1933 in Mole Lake the daughter of the late Charles W. and Sylvia (Ackley) McGeshick.

She married Donald Arthur Burnett on July 1, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1976.

Elaine loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking, bingo, trips to the casino, her flower gardens, country music and attending pow-wows. Elaine was well known for having a flower in her hair. She will be sadly missed by her family.

She is survived by five daughters, Connie Gagliano of Mole Lake, Barbara (Clinchy) Fox of Mole Lake, Jodie (Tom) Swanson of Mole Lake, Linda (David) Brunk of Mole Lake and Tammy (Mitch Byrd) Burnett of Wausau; six sons, Jerry Burnett of Mole Lake, Timothy (Sally) Burnett of Mole Lake, Larry (Betty) Burnett of Des Moines, Iowa, Michael Burnett of Mole Lake, Donald (Phyllis) Burnett of St. Louis, Mo., and Bruce (Leah) Burnett of Green Bay; 26 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

She is further survived by three sisters, Lorraine VanZile of Mole Lake, Joyce (Jim) Einertson of Mole Lake and Sylvia Ducat of Mole Lake; and four brothers, Charles John McGeshick of Watersmeet, Mich., Bill McGeshick of Mole Lake, Roger (Judy) McGeshick of Mole Lake and Willard McGeshick of Watersmeet, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sylvia, husband, two sons, Richard and Cary, and brother, Archie McGeshick.

Visitation was held on Thursday, July 19 at the Barbara Fox Residence (2917 Sokaogon Dr., Mole Lake). Native American Services were held on Friday, July 20. Mr. Bill Daniels, Sr. lead the services. Interment was in the Mole Lake Tribal Cemetery.

Douglas Edward Kincaid, Jr.

Douglas Edward Kincaid, Jr. passed away at the age of 50 years old on Saturday, July 21, 2007, after an admirable and courageous battle with cancer. He was a beloved husband and best friend to his wife, our favorite Dad, the best Papa, a wonderful son, brother and friend. Doug will be deeply, deeply missed.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Chrissy; daughters, Erica (Jason) Neilitz, Sarah (Nathan) Adler and Ashly (Samuel) Hartmann; granddaughters Cassidy, Alexa and Ava Neilitz; step-grandson Blake Adler; parents Douglas and Jacqueline Kincaid, Sr.; siblings, Melinda (Earl) Otto, Holly Kulinski, Tracey Mayer, Steven (Michelle) Kincaid and Jeffery (Colleen) Kincaid; father-in-law Loyal Abney; many nieces and nephews, as well as, many many friends too numerous to mention.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his mother-in-law, Iola Abney.

Doug was born in Crandon on December 13, 1956. He chose to make his home here and raise his family in Crandon his entire life. Doug had a passion for life, enjoying fast cars, racing, hunting, fishing and especially spending quality time with his friends, family and granddaughters. An avid story teller, he easily drew in those around him with his entertaining stories and anecdotes. He provided incredible strength, wisdom and comfort to those who knew him.

With his entrepreneurial spirit Doug had many successes from logging to realty. Most recently he was very proud of the successful business partnerships he helped form with his son-in-law Jason.

The memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Methodist Church in Crandon. Visitation will be held from noon to 4 p.m. followed by the funeral service. We will gather for a meal in his honor at the Crandon Community Building around 5:30 p.m. The following will serve as pall bears: Todd Flannery, Larry Colburn, Jim Conway, Russ Sorano, Jamie Conway, Mike Tallier, Kenny Murray and George Wickstrom (honorary).

Doug left a little piece of himself with all those who loved him; we will remember him with great fondness and warmth in our hearts.

Lois J. Flannery

Lois J. Flannery, age 76, of Pelican Lake, went to her heavenly home on July 21, 2007 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. Lois was born in Jennings, July 24, 1930 the daughter of the late Nickolas and Hattie (Haut) Zelechowski.

Lois married Charles Flannery in Waukegan, Illinois on July 31, 1948. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Monico, the Pelican Lake Ladies' Civic Club and she sat on the Town of Schoepke Election Board.

Lois and her husband Charlie owned and operated Olson's Drive-In of Elcho for several years. She worked alongside her soul mate in their Christmas tree business and was still active until the time of her death.

Lois was a farm girl at heart and loved watching the calves and other animals being born. She loved homemaking, gardening, berry picking and canning. Lois was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. She especially loved spending time with her family. Lois will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by three daughters, Pauline (Jack) Smith of Green Bay, Ann (Tom) Collier of Hazelhurst and Chris (Roger) Stephens of Pelican Lake; three sons, Gregory (Linda) Flannery of Argonne, Herb (Nancy) Flannery of Pelican Lake and Brian (Cindy) Flannery of Pelican Lake; grandchildren, Chad (Beth), Mark (Stephanie), and Eric Smith, Jason Flannery, Stacey (Rob) McCorkle, Wade (Patty) Novak, Jason (Kati) Stephens, Tammie Chamberlin, Kim Rushford, Amy (Erik) Ciriacks, Scott, Lindsay, and

Ben Collier, Jeremy and Lauren Flannery, and Dustin, Kyle, and Taylor Flannery; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Lisa LaFreniere, Alexis and Alayna McCorkle, Danny Novak, Christopher Boldt, Jordan and Hannah Chamberlin, Chloe Craighton, Kylie Rushford and Madison and Samuel Ciriacks; sisters-in-law, Violet Flannery, Mary Jane Flannery, Jean Flannery, Katie Bellomy and Jean Littleton.

She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Hattie Zelechowksi; husband, Charles; daughter, Charlotte Ann; grandson, Jared; sister, Esther; and brothers, Leo, Carl, Edwin, William, Nick and John.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 25 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at the Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Crandon and again on Thursday, July 26 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Enterprise. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Neil Varnum officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in Jennings. Weber-Hill Funeral Home in Crandon is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Paul Ray Howard

Paul Ray Howard, age 22, departed this life on July 5, 2007 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Missouri after his vehicle was struck head-on by a hydroplaning vehicle that crossed the centerline.

Paul was born the son of Christine Smith Howard and Dennis Howard on February 27, 1985 in Rolla, Mo. He was saved and baptized at the Assembly of God Church in Boss, Mo.

He was employed by Boart Longyear Drilling Co. as a driller's assistant. Paul's hobbies included fishing, hunting, riding four wheelers and motorcycles. He enjoyed camping and sitting around with friends by the campfire. Paul was known for his contagious smile.

Paul was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Paul Smith and Ivan Howard.

Paul is survived by his father, Howard (Kandy) Howard of Crandon; his mother, Chris Howard (Alan Farmer) of Bunker, Mo.; three brothers, Dennis (Misty) Howard Jr. of Bunker, Mo., Richard Howard of Daytona Beach, Fla., and James Headrick of Bunker, Mo.; two sisters, Ali Rhode of Crandon and Vanessa Rhode of Rhinelander; grandmothers, Irene Smith of Bunker, Mo. and Lillian Howard of Crandon; and special friend, Kayla Cissell of Bunker, Mo.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on July 10, 2007 at Bunker High School, with Pastor Clay Harper officiating. The concluding service was held at Bunker City Cemetery in Bunker, Mo. McSpadden Funeral Homes, Inc. handled the arrangements.
