Marshfield Clinic recently contributed $500 to the Lakeland Little League program. As part of that contribution, the Clinic received a sign that is now hanging on the fence at Brandy Park, along with signs from other contributing area businesses. In addition, Dr. Kevin Laurence, Internal Medicine physician with Marshfield Clinic Minocqua Center, who has served as the Safety Officer for the Little League program this season, facilitated a Clinic contribution of 18 first aid kits for the program. “We are very happy to help support organizations like Little League that keep kids involved in healthy physical activity,” said Dr. Laurence. “With childhood inactivity contributing to the soaring increases in childhood obesity, it is so important that we encourage our youth to be involved in sports. We are the ones who can teach them healthy habits so they will lead long and healthy lives.”
