Forest County Health Department WIC Draft Pick-up is Wednesday, June 6 from 8:30 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the County Health Department in the Courthouse in Crandon.

Crandon Park N Rec Registration is Saturday, June 9 at Cardinal Park from 10 a.m. to noon for children in kindergarten through 12 years of age.

YMCA of the Northwoods' Brewer bus trip is scheduled for June 24. Leave YMCA at 7 a.m., return about 10 p.m. Cost is $47 per person and includes game ticket, hot dog and soda. Register by calling 362-9622.

Forest County Health Department free blood pressure clinic will be held Monday, June 25 at the Wabeno Town Hall from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Downtown Wabeno flea market will be held every Friday.

Vacationers and locals gear up for summer
The traffic on area roads and lakes has increased and will remain at this busy pace until Labor Day weekend. It was interesting as we fished several area lakes to watch many docks being returned to the water. One summer cabin had six vehicles parked nearby and at least ten fellows using rakes and another mowing the lawn.
