Death and dying can be scary events to face, yet every life will be touched by death, and those affected may experience the intense sense of grief that can accompany loss. Many will know someone who is diagnosed with a terminal illness, which might be cancer or one of many other conditions.

Hospice is a holistic model of care provided to patients of all ages with a limited life expectancy. Hospice care is provided wherever a patient lives - whether in their own home, a nursing home or other community-based living facility, or the Seasons of Life Hospice Home. Hospice is designed to help both the terminally ill patient and their loved ones who are traveling that frightening river through unknown territory. Hospice staff prepares them for what's to come, provides pain and symptom control, and gives support in whatever way is needed to make their remaining days together comfortable. In addition, they provide support for surviving loved ones for more than a year after the death has occurred. In fact, grief support groups are open to anyone who has lost someone, regardless of their involvement in hospice.

Early season open water fishing for many northern Wisconsin anglers means walleye fishing. There is a group who spend the first few weeks of the fishing season on some of the backwoods trout streams searching for some native brookies. Even though the trout streams see a lot of angling pressure early in the season the heavy fishing activity is on area lakes where anglers are pursuing the tasty walleyes. READ MORE >
