I Hate Hamlet

The Nicolet Players will present “I Hate Hamlet,” a comedy about a young New York actor who struggles with the role of Hamlet and the intoxicated ghost of John Barrymore, as their latest production at the Nicolet College Theatre in Rhinelander on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. They will also present the production on Sunday, May 6 at 2 p.m.

Additional presentations will be held on Thursday, May 10, Friday, May 11 and Saturday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 13 at 2 p.m.

Common Sense Parenting Class

A new Common Sense Parenting course for parents of toddlers and preschoolers will be offered on seven consecutive Tuesdays, beginning May 1 and concluding on June 12 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Ministry Behavioral Health, Ministry Medical Group-Riverside Clinic located at 1020 Kabel Avenue, Rhinelander. Advance registration is required; to register call (715) 361-2812. The fee for the 7-week course is $30 plus $15 for the Common Sense Parenting Book.

Sister Dorothy Ann Dirkx, MA a licensed mental health provider for Ministry Health Care has been authorized by the Girls and Boys Town training staff and by Ministry Behavioral Health to offer the Common Sense Parenting course here in the Northwoods area. This course builds a parents' confidence in their ability to parent well. It teaches parents how to reduce problem behaviors, to give clear messages, to stay calm, to teach one's child/ren self-control, to praise effectively, as well as to develop consistent expectations and consequences for their child/ren. Parents will also learn how to correct their child's problem behavior and to prevent such behavior in the future.

Forever Stamp on Sale

The Forever stamp will be available for 41 cents nationwide at all Post Offices, online at www.usps.com, or by calling 1-800-STAMP-24.

Although over 8.85 million Forever stamps have been disseminated for sale at Post Offices in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, customers can beat the rush and pre-order their Forever stamps online now at www.usps.com/shop. That way, they can be ready when the postage rates change on May 14.

The Forever stamp is a historic occasion for the Postal Service. Featuring the Liberty Bell image and the word “Forever,” the stamp will be good for mailing one-ounce First-class letters anytime - regardless of future price changes. Research has shown that customers will prefer the Forever stamp as it will reduce the need to buy additional postage with any future rate changes.

“The Forever stamp is a consumer innovation,” said Susan Thiel, Retail Manager for the U.S. Postal Service for the Lakeland District. “Pre-ordering the stamps now will deliver unprecedented convenience and value to customers forever.

Hunters' Education Class

”The Big 4+ Sportsman's Club will be holding a Hunters' Education course June 12 through 16 at their clubhouse on Settlement Road in Long Lake. The course is open to the general public. To register call Skip Ritchie at (715) 674-3208.
