Each year in March, the Social Work profession is celebrated nationally. This year's theme was "HOPE + HEALTH, Help Starts Here" which highlighted the work of social workers in health care. Locally, this year's celebration included the promotion of the importance of Advance Directives and the collection of donations from employees for the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry. In addition, this year, the first World Social Work Day was held on March 27, which celebrated international efforts to increase awareness and recognition for the role of social workers.

Monthly Community Education sessions about Advance Directives are offered at Saint Mary's Hospital the first Thursday of every month from 1:30 to 3 p.m. and at Sacred Heart Hospital the third Thursday of each month from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For more information about the social work profession or Advance Directives, contact Sue Kirby, Community Link Coordinator at 715-361-2040.
