The Rhinelander District Library will host a program entitled “Wolves in Wisconsin” on Monday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. Steve Hoffmeister, a volunteer with the Speakers Bureau of the Timber Wolf Alliance, will present a talk and slide show that will focus on information and issues related to Wisconsin (and the Midwest) and wolves.
The audience will learn about the biology, social structure, habits, and behavior of wolves. Wolves' current status in Wisconsin, legal and otherwise, will be explored, as well as the social issues related to wolves and people.
Hoffmeister has had a personal interest in wolves (“and indeed all things wild”) since childhood, and joined the Timber Wolf Alliance Speakers Bureau about ten years ago. The Timber Wolf Alliance is a program of the Sigurd Olsen Environmental Institute at Northland College in Ashland.
This program is free and open to the public. Students are particularly encouraged to attend.
Call the library at 365-1070 with any questions.
