Land, zoning issues face county board Tuesday

Should names of Oneida County landowners be included on an Internet site listing land records information?
That's one of many property-related questions to be answered by the Oneida County Board of Supervisors during its regular monthly meeting Tuesday.
The Oneida County Land Records and Information Technology departments are developing an Internet site for public access to land records data, maps and images. The departments want to also include names of landowners on the website but in 2002 the county board specifically directed that landowner names should not be published on the Internet along with the other information.
On Tuesday, the departments will try to convince the board to change its mind.
"A landowner's name is public record and will be highly beneficial to users of land records and will lead to greater efficiencies in responding to land information inquiries," the land records committee argues in its resolution.
In other business the board is expected to:
€ Discuss five zoning related resolutions. Three of the resolutions are rezoning requests. The fourth resolution clarifies averaging rules and the last is meant to clear up inconsistencies between rules in shoreland and non shoreland areas.
€ Decide whether to endorse a resolution asking the state government to take the cost of Human Services off the property tax and to pay for the relocation of the residents who will be displaced as the result of the closure of Horizons Unlimited.
The board will meet 9:30 a.m. at the Oneida County Courthouse.
